Access Davis Edge

To access Davis Edge content, you will always begin by logging into your LMS (ex: Blackboard, Canvas, D2L/Brightspace, Moodle) and accessing your LMS course. You should not be accessing your class on any fadavis.com website.

 

1. Log in to your LMS from your institution's login page with your username or school email address and password.

 


2. Once logged in, navigate to your course Homepage.

 

3. From the course homepage, locate your Assignments and find a link to launch Davis Edge.

 

The images used here are samples - your actual course and assignment links may have different titles depending on how your instructor has designed them. Look for "Davis Edge” in the title.

 

 

5. If this is your first time accessing your Davis Edge content for this course, you may be prompted to enter an Access Code. If you have purchased a print copy, the Access Code can be found on the inside cover of your book. Enter the Access Code on the left side of the landing page shown below and click REDEEM CODE.

 

If you do not have an access code, you may purchase Instant Access by clicking the BUY NOW button on the right side of the screen. Note that you may purchase Instant Access or Print. Proceed through the checkout and remember to enter your Discount Code if you have one. Once purchased, close the checkout window and proceed to your LMS course.

 

 

 

6. Once your access has been verified, you will be able to click links to Davis Edge content directly from your LMS course and can begin working on Davis Edge Assignments in the new window. You will not need to enter your Access Code again.

 

Student: Success Center: Davis Edge

To begin working in a Davis Edge class you are enrolled in, select “View” to enter that class' student Success Center.

In the "Performance at a glance" box, you can track your progress. You will see your average score on assignments, the class average, and your number of incomplete or new assignments. Based off of your Practice Quiz performance, you will also see topics of strength and weakness, as well as your Success Level.

The "Take Action" box includes buttons to view assignments, create practice quizzes, view your feedback report, and enter review mode.

The "Performance Map" box provides you with a visual representation of your Practice Quiz progress. You will see your average Practice Quiz score as well as your Success Level in each course topic.

Student: Complete Assignments: Davis Edge

Assignments are created by your instructor and are reported to the Gradebook. Assignments may have time limits and/or due dates. To access your active assignments, click the "View Assignments" button on your Success Center page. 

 

 

After you click the "View Assignments" button, the class Assignments tab will open. This page displays all the assignments created by your instructor.

 

 

Assignment Name

Each assignment will be named.

 

 

Start and End Dates

The Assignment Start Date is the date that the instructor made the assignment available. The Assignment Due Date is the last available day to complete the assignment without it being marked as Late.

 

 

Date Completed

The Date Completed column will display the date you have completed an assignment, or will indicate incomplete status.

 

 

Grade

Your grade will be displayed as a percentage for each completed assignment.

 

 

Time Spent

The Time Spent column will display the total amount of time you have spent on each assignment.

 

 

Actions

Under the Actions column, you can View Results of each completed assignment. You can begin a new assignment by clicking "Take Assignment."

 

 

 

Timed Assignments

Your instructor may set a time limit on an assignment. If an assignment is timed, you will receive an alert when the assignment is opened.

 

 

Assignment Clock

A clock will be displayed at the bottom of the screen for timed assignments.

 

 

Out of Time

If an assignment is not completed within the allotted time, the assignment will be automatically submitted. You will be redirected to the Feedback page for the assignment. 

 

Answering Assignment Questions

Step 1: Select the answer

 

Step 2: Click "Submit" to progress to the next question.

 

 

Assignment Feedback

After you have completed an assignment, you will be redirected to the Feedback page to see which questions you answered correctly and which you answered incorrectly. Rationales are provided for both correct and incorrect responses.

 

 

Practice Quizzes: Davis Edge

 

Practice quizzes help you improve your test-taking skills and determine which areas to focus on for further review.

 

Create a Quiz

To create a practice quiz, go to your Success Center and click the "Create Practice Quiz" button.

 

 

 

Practice Quiz Builder

The Practice Quiz Builder page allows you to choose parameters with which to create your Practice Quiz.

 

 

 

Quiz Name

Here, you can name your practice quiz.

 

 

Course Topic or Concept

You can create a quiz based on Course Topic or Concept. Click the dropdown menu to see the available topics or concepts, then click checkboxes to select a single topic/concept, a combination, or all. Note that some texts may additionally allow you to choose your Program.

 

 

Question Size and Type

Using the "Select Number of Questions" dropdown, select the number of questions you wish to include in your Practice Quiz. You can also choose to exclude questions you have already answered correctly. After you have finished making your selections, click the blue Start button to generate the quiz and begin.

 

After you have made your selections, click the "Start" button found at the bottom of the Practice Quiz Builder to generate your Practice Quiz and begin.

 

Answering Practice Quiz Questions

Step 1: Select your answer.

 

Step 2: Click "Submit" to progress to the next question of your Practice Quiz.

 

 

Quiz Feedback

After you have completed a Practice Quiz, you will be redirected to the Feedback page to see your results. Your ratio of correct versus incorrect answers will be displayed in the top-right of your Feedback. Additionally, rationales are provided for both correct and incorrect responses.

 

 

Create a Practice Quiz

To begin working toward a Success Level Goal, create a Practice Quiz by clicking its "Create Practice Quiz" link.

 

 

Build the Quiz

Step 1: Name the Practice Quiz.

 

Step 2: Select the number of questions to be included in the quiz.

 

Step 3: Click the "Start" button.

 

(Note that the Course Topic cannot be changed here.)
