How do I add my class to my LMS? (Basic Integration)

  • Once you create your class on the product website (MLL, Davis Advantage, DC360, etc.), a new class ID will be created and will need to be added to a URL required for LMS implementation. If you should need assistance setting up your class on our website, please contact our Digital Implementation Team at [email protected].
  • Depending on your school, please follow the instructions provided by F. A. Davis or your school’s LMS Administrator. Either you or your school’s admin will perform the task of implementing your class into your LMS.
  • Your course will be implemented using the F. A. Davis LTI Tool (LTI 1.3 Advanced Integration users will have additional options for selecting the product and specific assignments to place in to the LMS course). If you or the LMS admin need assistance, please contact us at [email protected].
  • Once your class URL is implemented into your LMS by the LMS admin, a link to your course will appear in your LMS Dashboard.
  • It is important that you test launch your class (clicking the link from your LMS that opens a new window to the product) so that we have record of the course in our database and so that students can begin enrolling in the class.

Where can I view my students’ grades? (Basic Integration)

  • You will need to launch your class and view the product on fadavis.com. Click the “Gradebook” link at the top of the page. You will then see your students’ submitted scores for completed assignments.

Where can I view my students’ grades? (Advanced Integration)

  • With Advanced Integration, students can complete assignments in the FAD product and their grades will be posted in the LMS gradebook for viewing. You still have the option of viewing the direct product Gradebook as described in the Basic Integration version above.
  • If you notice a discrepancy between the scores posted in the LMS gradebook and the gradebook in the FAD product website, please contact our team at [email protected].
  • With your Advanced Integration, you will have access to the Feedback Center for select products
    • The Feedback Center displays an overview of your class performance, including time spent and modules completed. You also have the option to view specific student progress, all within the LMS.
    •  To include the Feedback Center into your course, select it from the module listing section of your selected FA Davis Product:
    • The Feedback Center will first display the overall class performance. Click on any student name for further drilldown:

How can I edit the settings to my class? (Basic Integration)

  • The link for your course will open a new window to the fadavis.com product dashboard. You will be able to make all course adjustments from this page by clicking the Edit button.
  • IMPORTANT: Please be sure to make all class settings edits prior to the course start date.

How can I edit the settings my class? (Advanced Integration)

  • You will be able to make all course adjustments (for deep linking only) within your LMS (modifying assignments, grading options, etc.)
  • IMPORTANT: Please be sure to make all class settings edits prior to the course start date.

My students are unable to join my class (students encountering error page)

  • First, make sure you can successfully launch your class by clicking the class link in your LMS that opens a new window to your product. After successfully launching your course, your students will then be able to open the class and be automatically enrolled.
  • Double check that your course content/material has been correctly implemented. Also check that students are entering via the LMS. If the problem continues, refer to: “How do I add my course to my LMS?” above.

Can I clone/copy my master course from the LMS?

  • For our Advanced Integration users, you can create a clone/copy course from either a current active LMS class with FAD integrated content, or you can create a blueprint/master course to create copies
    • IMPORTANT: For Davis Advantage classes, custom Edge quizzes will not carry over.
      • To use custom Edge quizzes in a clone/copy course, you will have to delete the current link entry in the newly made copy course, then re-insert the custom quiz using the F. A. Davis LTI Tool by reselecting and reinserting the link.
  • For our Basic Integration users, you will need to clone/copy your existing courses directly from the product website by clicking the Cog wheel icon and selecting “Clone”:
    • Davis Advantage, MLL ex:
    • You can adjust general course settings and due dates inside the FAD products where necessary prior to the LMS course start
    • For each clone/copy class, a new class ID will be created and will be used for the updated URL that is implemented into the LMS by your LMS Admin.
  • General settings from your original course, such as active modules and grading rules, will carry over into the new clone/copy course. You will only be responsible for update the start/end date of the class and/or modules.
  • IMPORTANT: Please be sure to make all class settings edits prior to the course start date, and test launch your new class.
